Through the reading and discussion of sociological literature on interaction in everyday life, students will acquire conceptual frameworks for the sociological analysis of ordinary, taken-for-granted social encounters.
This seminar focuses primarily on literature in the field of interaction research. All participants are required to read the assigned text prior to each session.
［Readings］
In the first part of the course, students will read textbook-style materials that provide foundational knowledge relevant to the more advanced readings in the latter half.
The course will include Erving Goffman’s dramaturgical approach, which conceptualizes everyday life through the metaphor of theater, as well as classic works in ethnomethodology and conversation analysis that examine the mechanisms sustaining the fine-grained organization of everyday interaction, including talk and embodied conduct.
The specific texts will be selected in accordance with participants’ interests.
［Course Format］
The student assigned for each session will prepare a written summary (handout) of the designated reading.
All other participants are required to respond in advance to a list of questions.

日常生活における相互行為について社会学的に論じた文献を読み、議論をすることを通して、何気ない日常的なやりとりを社会学的に分析するための概念を獲得する。

このゼミでは、相互行為研究に関わる文献を中心に読む。
発表担当者（レジュメ作成者）だけでなく、出席者は全員、各回の文献を読んでから参加する必要がある。
［このゼミで読む文献の内容］
・最初の方の授業では、後半の文献に関連する教科書的なテキストを読む。
・日常生活を「演劇」の比喩で喩えたアーヴィング・ゴッフマンのドラマツルギー論や、（会話や身振りなどからなる）日常的な微細なやりとりを支えるメカニズムに注目したエスノメソドロジー・会話分析の古典的な文献を読む。
具体的にどの文献を読むかは、受講者の関心に即して決定する。
