To acquire the main points of discussion and essential knowledge about disparities, and class issues in modern Japan.
To acquire skills to correctly understand statistical charts and tables in literature
In this class, we will provide an overview of the debates over the past quarter century, including how discussions related to unequal societies have developed. After that, students will deepen their consideration of the present and future of modern Japan, which is known as a disparate or stratified society, through literature readings and discussions with students.
All students are required to submit comments (questions, criticism, impressions, etc.) weekly via Canvas LMS. At the first meeting, we will decide who will be in charge of reporting the literature. Persons in charge of reporting are required to prepare report materials summarizing their areas of responsibility and submit their reports.

この授業では、格差社会にかかわる議論がどのように展開してきたか、この四半世紀の論争を概観します。そのうえで、格差社会あるいは階層社会と呼ばれる現代日本の「いま」と「これから」について、文献講読と受講者の討論によって、考察を深めます。
履修者全員がCanvas LMSを通じてコメント（疑問点・批判・感想など）を毎週提出することが求められます。初回には文献の報告担当者を決めます。報告担当者は、担当回には担当箇所を要約した報告資料を作成し、報告を行うことが求められます。
