Students will develop the ability to approach issues in contemporary society from gender and sexuality perspectives, and to analyze and critically examine the underlying factors behind them.
Stereotypes and norms concerning gender and sexuality shape individual experiences and social structures in various ways, at times excluding certain social groups and giving rise to serious social problems. This course deepens students' understanding of how such stereotypes and norms produce disparities, discrimination, and exclusion.
Students read texts that address issues in contemporary society from gender and sexuality perspectives. Each week, students read the assigned text closely, bring their own questions to class, and discuss them together. Through this process, students deepen their interest in and critical awareness of society, while learning how to formulate questions and analyze society through the lens of gender and sexuality.

〈予習〉講読する文献を精読し、問いを1〜2つ考えて、授業前日までに提出する。提出後は、他の受講生が提出した問いにも目を通し、議論に備える。報告者は、報告用の資料を準備する。
〈復習〉ディスカッションを踏まえ、事前に立てた問いがどのように深まったか、新たにどのような問いが生まれたかを、そのプロセスがわかるようにまとめ、リアクションペーパーとして提出する。
〈発展的な学習〉自分の経験、身の回りで起きた出来事、ニュースで報道された事件などをジェンダー／セクシュアリティの視点からとらえてみる。他の授業で学んだ理論や概念と結びつけて考えてみるのもよい。それによって気づいたことを誰かに話してみる。

ジェンダー／セクシュアリティの視点から現代社会の課題をとらえ、その背景を分析、考察する力を身につける。
Students will develop the ability to approach issues in contemporary society from gender and sexuality perspectives, and to analyze and critically examine the underlying factors behind them.
ジェンダー／セクシュアリティに関する固定観念や規範は、個人の経験や社会のしくみに様々な仕方で影響を与え、ときに特定の社会集団を排除したり、深刻な社会問題を生じさせたりしている。この授業では、こうした固定観念や規範がどのように格差や差別、排除を生み出しているのかについて、考察を深める。
授業では、現代社会の課題をジェンダー／セクシュアリティの視点から取り上げている文献を講読する。各回、文献を精読したうえで問いを持ち寄り、議論を行う。この往復を通して、社会に対する関心や問題意識を深めながら、ジェンダー／セクシュアリティの視点から問いを設定する方法、社会を分析する方法を学ぶ。
