In this course, issues such as "self", "others", "relationship", "social consciousness" are examined from the viewpoint of theoretical sociology. The objective is to enable students to: (i) know how to analyze an issue from a sociological perspective, (ii) conduct their own research projects, and (iii) write their thesis.
The course is composed of readings, discussions, and students' presentation. In the second semester, students have the responsibility to present their research at different stages of their project. Discussions give the presenters an opportunity to see their research from different perspectives.

自分の独自の問題関心を養い、それを人に伝えられるようになること

授業の展開に合わせて授業延長や授業計画の変更可能性がある。
また，夏休み中の合宿に参加すること。
参加者それぞれが、「社会」や「文化」をみつめる独自の視点を身につけ、そこから、「自分にしか出来ない社会学」や「自分だからこそできる社会学」を展開できるようになることが本演習の目標である。自分とは異なる無数の「他者」たち、すなわち自分とは違う無数の「自己」たちの「経験」が積み上がって出来た「社会」という場所の複雑さについての想像力を養っていきたい。
また、その際に、「文化」や「芸術」といった「社会」の中に独自の視点を生み出していく存在を助けとしていきたいと考える。

本演習では，社会学理論や現代文化批評の視点を軸として，「私」や「他者」，「関係性」，「社会意識」，「文化」などの問題について考察を行っていく。
専門演習２Ｂでは，いま目の前で起きている「文化」や「社会現象」、もしくは過去の「社会」や「文化」のあり方について視野を広げながら，各自の問題関心を深めるための応用性を伴った実践的な社会学的な運動神経を養っていく。
夏期休暇中の合宿でそれぞれの研究方針を決定し，秋学期に調査を実施する。最終的に，自身の調査について考察を行って，400字原稿用紙30枚程度の論文を執筆し，それらをまとめ，年度末にゼミ報告書を作成する。
