The purpose of this lecture is to acquire basic knowledge of medical sociology through learning the results of the sociological study that has been accumulated on the subjects of illness, health, dying, death, and bereavement.
Each session introduces and examines a major concept in the sociology of health and illness or the sociology of death and bereavement. Using this concept as an analytical framework, the course explores and interprets contemporary issues related to illness, health, dying, death, and bereavement.

病気、健康、死にゆくこと、死、死別というテーマについて蓄積されてきた社会学的研究の成果を学ぶことで、医療社会学の基礎知識を⾝につける。
The purpose of this lecture is to acquire basic knowledge of medical sociology through learning the results of the sociological study that has been accumulated on the subjects of illness, health, dying, death, and bereavement.
毎回、医療社会学や死と死別の社会学の主要な概念をひとつ取り上げ、その内容について検討を行うとともに、その概念を手掛かりにして、病気、健康、死にゆくこと、死、死別をめぐる現状を読み解いていく。
