Students will set a research theme for their graduation thesis. They will examine previous research related to the theme, closely examine the results of their work in Specialized Seminar 2, and begin further collection and analysis of materials and data. They will then select an appropriate methodology and begin preliminary research.
In Graduation Thesis Seminar 1, the first step is to set a research theme for writing the graduation thesis. It is desirable to examine previous research related to the theme based on the accumulated work undertaken in Specialized Seminar 2, and it is important to further expand on this. The second step is then to set hypotheses to be verified and derive appropriate methodologies. In Seminar I, the third step is to begin preliminary research and envision the work to be carried out during the summer vacation.

卒業論文の作成に向けて、研究テーマを設定する。テーマに即した先行研究の検討を、専門演習2で取り組んだ成果を精査し、さらに資料・データを収集・分析し、ブラッシュアップする。そのうえで、適切な調査方法・分析手法を選択し、予備調査を開始することを目標とする。
Students will set a research theme for their graduation thesis. They will examine previous research related to the theme, closely examine the results of their work in Specialized Seminar 2, and begin further collection and analysis of materials and data. 卒業論文演習1では、卒業論文を作成するための研究テーマを設定することがファーストステップである。テーマに沿った先行研究の検討は、専門演習で取り組んできた作業の蓄積のうえに行うことが望ましく、さらに、その厚みを増すことが重要である。そのうえで、検証すべき仮説（or「問い」）の設定や適切な方法論を導き出すことがセカンドステップである。演習1では、予備調査を開始し、夏季休暇に進めるべき作業を展望することがサードステップである。
