Students can develop a foundation for thinking about the “America” including Latin America today.
Students can rethink our culture and society from the perspective of minority American ethnography.
This lecture examines the social, cultural, and economic conditions of ethnic minorities and how they have changed in light of the cultural ethnography of “America” in the broadest sense, including Latin America. The lecture will explore the fluctuations between majorities and minorities and the roots of social movements based on the case of the Brazilian Japanese community, which the instructor has researched.

本講義は、ラテンアメリカを含む広義の「アメリカ」の文化誌を踏まえて、エスニック・マイノリティが社会的・文化的・経済的にいかなる状況にあるのか、どのように変化してきたのかを検討するものです。講義では、担当講師が調査を行ってきたブラジルの事例を踏まえて、マジョリティとマイノリティの揺らぎ、社会運動の根源を探究します。
