Students will conduct fieldwork on themes such as religion, spirituality, counseling, psychologism, "oshi-katsu" (fandom activities), and lifestyle.
Examples of themes include: mechanisms of belief; new religious movements and Japanese society; Japanese views on religion; "power spots" (spiritual sites); Instagram; fortune-telling; modern counselors; self-help; anime pilgrimage; *oshi-katsu* (fan activities supporting a favorite celebrity/character); rock festivals; the idol phenomenon; and more.
In the spring semester, students will read and discuss foundational texts in the sociology of religion, select a research subject, and formulate a research plan. In the autumn semester, students will work in groups of two to four to conduct interviews—primarily with individuals or organizations outside the university—and each student will write a final report.

宗教，スピリチュアル，カウンセリング，心理主義，推し活, ライフスタイルなどをテーマとした実地調査をおこないます。

テーマ例：■信じさせるメカニズム■新宗教と日本社会■日本人の宗教観■パワースポット■インスタグラム■占い■現代のカウンセラー■自己啓発■アニメ聖地巡礼■推し活■ロックフェス■アイドル現象など。
春学期は宗教社会学の基本的な論考を輪読したのち，調査対象を選定，調査計画を立案します。秋学期は２〜４名の班に分かれ，主に学外の個人・団体にインタビュー調査をおこない，最終レポートを各自作成します。
