This seminar focuses on the various activities of people living in citiesand considers the present and future of cities, from the past (generally since the 1960s) to the present.
Students will set specific research topics based on their individual interests, and deepen their analysis through literature review and qualitative research methods. Additionally, This seminar focuses on the various activities of people living in cities and considers the present and future of cities, from the past (generally since the 1960s) to the present.
Students will set specific research topics based on their individual interests, and deepen their analysis through literature review and qualitative research methods. Additionally, the Center for Research on Coexistence and Society houses a large collection of materials related to citizen activities from the 1960s onwards. These materials will be actively utilized in the course. These materials will be actively utilized in the course.

1)参加者のしっかりとした問題意識と着実かつ精力的な文献講読、データ収集・分析、調査を強く求める。
2)社会調査法１・２の内容を復習しておくこと。調査手法のみならず問いの立てかたについても理解を深めておくこと。
3)自発的で積極的にフィールドワークに取り組むこと。
4)上記授業計画は受講生の関心などにより変更することがある。
5)専門演習２Aと専門演習２Bは同一年度履修を原則とする。ただし、派遣留学などの特段の事情がある場合には審査のうえ例外的措置をとることもある。
都市は多様な人々が集う場である。そして都市に生きる人々は多様な課題に向き合い、自らの手で自らがよりよく生きる場を作り出すための活動を行ってきた。
このゼミでは都市に生きる人々の多様な活動を取り上げて、一次資料購読やヒアリング調査を通してその特質を明らかにし、ここから私たちの生きる場としての都市の未来を展望したい。

このゼミでは都市の過去（概ね1960年代以降を想定）から現在にいたる、都市に生きる人々の様々な営みに焦点を当てて、都市の現在と将来を考える。受講生が各自の問題関心に応じて具体的な研究対象を設定し、文献講読と質的調査手法に基づいて考察を深めていく。なお、本学共生社会研究センターは1960年代以降の市民活動資料を多数所蔵している。この資料を積極的に利用していく。
