This course deepens your understanding of "communicative writing," as exemplified by newspaper articles, and teaches how to write practical sentences that are also applicable in the business world. What is necessary to "communicate"? Through practical activities, you will think about this and aim to improve your writing skills.
This course focuses on the key points for writing sentences that clearly convey information and ideas to the reader. The practical writing required in the working world is completely different from the compositions and essays learned in elementary, middle, and high school. Students will be given approximately 10 writing assignments on a variety of topics, and their writing skills will be developed through corrections and feedback.

新聞を読むことを習慣づけてください。在京６紙（読売、朝日、毎日、産経、東京、日経）ならどれでもかまいません。定期購読していない人は図書館を活用するなど工夫しましょう。気になった記事、印象に残った記事について、自分なりの意見や感想をまとめることを心掛けてください。ジャンルは問いません。説明文作成のトレーニングに役立ちます。

新聞記事に代表される「伝わる文章」について理解を深め、ビジネスの世界でも通用する実用文の書き方を学びます。「伝わる」ためには何が必要か。実践的な取り組みを通じて考え、文章力の向上を目指します。

読み手に情報や考えを分かりやすく伝える文章を書くためのポイントを押さえます。社会人になって求められる実用文は、小中学校や高校で学んできた作文や小論文とはまったく異なります。様々なテーマの作文課題を計１０回程度出題し、添削とフィードバックを通じて文章力を養います。
