This course will teach basic concepts and analytical methods for interpreting materials and data related to social surveys. Students will learn various qualitative data collection and analysis methods, and be able to put qualitative research into practice and compile research findings.
This course focuses on research case studies primarily in the fields of healthcare and social welfare. We will analytically examine the characteristics and methodologies employed in these studies. Through this process, students will not only learn a wide variety of qualitative research methods but also aim to think analytically about the nature of qualitative research itself. Please note that the course will incorporate many practical exercises.

社会調査にかかわる資料とデータを読み解くための、基本的な考え方と分析法を学ぶ。さまざまな質的データの収集や分析方法を学習し、質的研究を実践し研究成果をまとめることができるようにする。
This course will teach basic concepts and analytical methods for interpreting materials and data related to social surveys. Students will learn various qualitative data collection and analysis methods, and be able to put qualitative research into practice and compile research findings.
具体的には、医療、福祉などの研究事例を中心にとりあげ、それら研究の特徴や、利用されている方法論を、分析的に検討していく。こうした作業を通じて、質的調査法の多種多様な調査法を学ぶだけでなく、質的研究それ自体について分析的に考えることを目指す。なお、授業では演習を多く実施する。
