▼Nowadays, everyone is a sender of media. This goes beyond journalism. Senders exist in all fields—not just subculture, but also music, art, and more. You, the students, are also senders.
▼In academic terms, senders are referred to as “gatekeepers.” In this seminar, we do not limit the concept of gatekeepers to media or journalism; we expand it to the broader realm of culture.
▼Specifically, this includes journalism, all areas of subculture, music, art, and more. This also includes medicine, family, and the representation of women.
▼The seminar leader, Kinoshita, is currently researching female journalists (during the Meiji and Taisho periods), club culture, Shibuya culture, club DJs, and VJs (he has also previously researched voice actors and dubbing). In a few years, he plans to focus on cosplay and cosplayers.
▼I hope you will use this seminar to explore topics for your graduation thesis and use it as a stepping stone toward writing your thesis.
▼The purpose and content of this seminar, as an overview, is to help students acquire the applied skills of writing a thesis aimed at media and cultural gatekeepers.
▼Specifically, the seminar covers the following three topics:
1) A review of prior research based on each student’s interests
2) Preparing and presenting an outline with resume
3) Active participation in discussions

▼以下の3つを行ってほしい。
1）復習を兼ねて、自らの興味関心に従い、資料や文献を読み、分析する。
2）自分の興味関心だけでなく、他の参加者のそれらにも興味を持つ。
3）事前に渡された文献や資料は、ある程度、事前に読んでおく。
▼8月に合宿を行う予定である。参加は義務ではないが、可能な限り参加してほしい。
なお授業期間中は大学設置基準の定める「1単位あたり45時間の学修」を踏まえ、予習・復習合わせて4時間程度の学修時間確保に努めること。

▼メディアや文化に強い関心があり、研究にコミットすることが望ましいが、その前に、市民・国民・生活者として、あるいは社会学徒として、現前の社会問題に興味関心を持つことを望む。
▼いまや万人が送り手である。それはジャーナリズムに留まらない。サブカルはもとより、音楽やアートなど、あらゆる領域に送り手が存在する。受講者の皆さんも送り手である。
▼送り手は、学術的には「ゲートキーパー」という。本ゼミではゲートキーパーをメディアやジャーナリズムに限定しない。文化の領域に拡大する。
▼具体的にはジャーナリズム、サブカルチャーのあらゆる領域、音楽、アートなどである。医療や家族、あるいは女性の表象なども含まれる。
▼主宰者の木下は現在、婦人記者（明治・大正期）、クラブカルチャー、渋谷カルチャー、クラブDJ、VJなどを研究中である（かつては声優や吹き替えを研究したこともある）。数年後には、コスプレやコスプレイヤーなどを対象にする予定である。
▼本ゼミを通じて卒業論文のテーマを模索し、論文執筆に繋げてほしい。
