Students will be able to acquire basic skills to study in university and apply them to deal with various objects in practice.
Learning in university involves establishing questions, advancing research based on these questions, and summarizing their findings. In the College of Sociology, students experience this process mainly in the field of Sociology. In this seminar, students aim to acquire basic skills necessary for the process above, such as how to search and read literature, how to write reports, how to conduct presentations, and so forth. The class provides practical training in the academic skills and encourages students to find questions that will lead their studies in the College of Sociology. Before enrolling, students should understand that seminar-format classes have more requirements than lecture-format classes. This seminar emphasizes attendance and active participation.

大学で学習するための基礎を身に着け、実際に様々な対象に応用できることを目指す。
Students will be able to acquire basic skills to study in university and apply them to deal with various objects in practice.
大学での学びは、自ら問いを立てて、この問いに沿って研究をすすめ、成果をまとめるという過程である。社会学部では社会学を中心にこの学びを行っていくが、そうした学習や研究を遂行していくための基礎となる文献の探し方、読み方、レポートの書き方・形式、発表の仕方などを、この授業では演習形式で身につけていくことを目指す。それを通して、社会学部における今後の学習を導く各人の「問い」をみつけることを促す。演習形式の授業は、講義形式のもの以上に毎回の出席と授業への積極的な参加が要求されるので、この点をよく理解して履修すること。
