Students will learn sociological theories to deepen their sociological perspectives, letting them know how to ask and answer sociological questions about current social issues. They will identify how societal changes shape the human experience and familiarize themselves with sociological research and methods. Students will gain a deeper understanding of and analyze issues related to families, aging, education, religion, health, medicine, the environment, and social change. They will develop critical thinking skills as they write their research proposal, give presentations, and provide and receive feedback.
The course is student-centered through active learning. The students are required to actively participate by reading or watching the assigned texts or videos, engaging in discussions, collaborating with their classmates, giving presentations using PowerPoint slides or videos, writing research proposals, and receiving and giving feedback.

Students will learn sociological theories to deepen their sociological perspectives, letting them know how to ask and answer sociological questions about current social issues.
