The aim of this course is to provide students with opportunities to discuss media culture from analytical, critical, and gender-sensitive perspectives in today’s digital and global age.
This course is designed to introduce students to a range of theories and topics pertaining to contemporary media culture so that they can develop their own critical approach to the phenomena. This course consists of lectures, discussions, and student presentations. The lecture and discussion will cover theoretical discussions and topics such as political economy, media convergence, active audience, fan culture, gender, sexuality, media representation, and AI. Students are required to engage in discussion actively.
