備考/ NotesNotes |
By combining social issues—like low birthrates, mental health, inequality, and migration—with critical theories of capitalism, postcapitalism, and media, this course aims to sharpen our awareness of how cultural products (anime, films, SF, digital platforms) either reinforce or challenge our current predicament. We will question whether “another world is possible”—and if so, what new media forms might help us envision and enact it.
Students will analyze films and TV shows (fiction and non-fiction) about new forms of media and their impact on society. Every class will consist of a lecture and a discussion session. Active participation by students is required.
