While gaining understanding of issues that have emerged in today's highly aged society / depopulating society, an age that could be termed the post-economic growth era, students will think about the form society should take after educing the historical dynamism of social changes involving old age and aging.
In order to understand what kind of changes the phenomena surrounding old age and aging have brought about in postwar Japanese society, students will, with an understanding of the problems of the highly aged society / depopulating society in the post-economic growth era, consider how the ways in which individuals view "old age" have changed, while also thinking about how society’s idea of "old age = aging" has been related. Students will then draw on these considerations to contemplate the new society required by the highly aged society / depopulating society of the post-economic growth era.

「ポスト経済成長時代」とでも呼ぶべき今日において「超高齢社会／人口減少社会」に立ち現れている諸問題について理解すると同時に、老いや高齢化をめぐる社会変動の歴史的ダイナミズムを析出したうえで、「成熟」の観点からあるべき社会について構想する。

戦後日本社会において「老い」と「高齢化」をめぐる現象はいかなる変容を遂げたのかを理解するために、ポスト経済成長時代の超高齢社会／人口減少社会の諸問題を理解したうえで、個人の「老い」への捉え方がいかに変容してきたのかを考察していくと同時に、社会の「老い＝高齢化」がどのように関係してきたのかを考えていく。こうした考察のもと、「ポスト経済成長時代」における「超高齢社会／人口減少社会」に求められる新たな社会を構想していく。
