The aim is to study the fundamentals of social sciences, such as transnational sociology — subjects scarcely taught in schools up to sixth form — enabling us to comprehend the rapid social transformation of globalisation that engulfs us. The ultimate goal is to cultivate the capacity to question social phenomena previously taken for granted throughout our lives, thereby acquiring both academic and practical foundations.
We are caught up in the rapid social upheaval of globalisation, from which there is no escape. How should we live? How can we maintain society? As we learn about the social problems arising from globalisation through relatable examples, we will also acquire the fundamental terminology, theories and methodologies of the social sciences, such as sociology. We will study social analysis techniques to understand why these problems occur and how they might be resolved.

高校までは学校で学ぶことほとんどない国際社会学など社会科学の基礎を学び、われわれを巻き込んでいるグローバル化という急激な社会変動を理解できるようにすることを目指す。これまでの人生で当たり前と見えた社会現象を疑うことができるようになり、学問的および実践的基礎を身につけることが最終目標である。

われわれはグローバル化という急激な社会変動に巻き込まれており、逃れることができない。いかに生きていけばよいのか。いかに社会を維持すればよいのか。身近な事例に引きつけてグローバル化においてどのような社会問題が生じているのかを学ぶ一方、社会学など社会科学の基礎的な用語、理論、方法論などを体得し、グローバル化に伴う社会問題がなぜ生じているのか、どのようにしたら解決できるのかなど社会分析の手法について学ぶ。
We are caught up in the rapid social upheaval of globalisation, from which there is no escape. How should we live? How can we maintain society?
