The objective of this course is to understand the characteristics of the awareness characteristically found in Japanese adolescents today, and the problems that arise from this awareness, against the background of recent modernity.
The social conditions surrounding modern adolescence, such as widening social disparities and the high unemployment rate, are very severe. However, their satisfaction with their lifestyles is conversely high, and their sense of well-being is rising. How should the gap between these be understood? This class will attempt a sociological elucidation.

現代日本の青年層に特徴的に見受けられる意識の特徴と，そこから派生する諸問題について，後期近代という社会背景から理解することを目指します。

社会的格差の拡大や失業率の高さなど，現代青年期をとりまく社会状況は非常に厳しい状況にあります。しかし、その一方で彼らの生活満足度は高く，また幸福感も強まる傾向が見られます。この両者のギャップはどのように理解すればよいのでしょうか。この授業では，その社会学的な解明を試みます。
