Acquire foundational knowledge about the relationship between migration and religion. Explain, based on specific case studies, how religion has been involved in the lives of foreign residents in Japan.
In contemporary society, where globalization continues to advance, the movement of people has become a common phenomenon. For those living in unfamiliar or foreign environments, religion often plays a significant role. This course examines the relationship between migration and religion, focusing primarily on cases from modern and contemporary Japan. Through this exploration, students will deepen their understanding of the social functions and roles of religion in contemporary society.
