This Course has three objectives as below
1. Students will learn the basic concepts and a variety of theories and methods related to fieldwork.
2. Students will gain hands-on experience with the actual procedures and specific practices involved in fieldwork.
3. Through these activities, students will strengthen their knowledge and skills in the fieldwork process.
In this course, students will first explore various developments in fieldwork methods and theories through lectures and literature readings, with a particular focus on the concept of the researcher’s “positionality.” Following this, students will have the opportunity to practice a specific fieldwork method. Through discussions of their results, students will gain an understanding of the actual procedures involved in fieldwork. A guest speaker will share her firsthand experiences in the field, providing valuable insights. By the end of the course, students will present what they have learned, aiming to consolidate their knowledge and skills related to fieldwork.
Participation in fieldwork is a prerequisite for this course.

【重要事項】
＜校外学習/フィールドワークについて＞ 本科目では校外学習においてフィールドワークを行う。よって、フィールドワークの日時については受講生と相談の上、決定する。
＜単位取得条件＞
本科目では、フィールドワークに出席することが単位取得の必須条件である。フィールドワークのやむを得ない欠席に関しては、事前に教員と相談すること。
本授業では、まず、さまざまなフィールドワークの方法に関する理論や実践について知識を深める。そのうえで、学生自ら実際のフィールドに出て、フィールドワークの実際の手続きや具体的な実践を体験的に学ぶ。これらを通じて、フィールドワークに関する知識と技術の定着を目指す。

本授業では、まず、フィールドワークの方法や理論に様々な展開があることを講義や文献講読を通じて学ぶ。特に、フィールドワークに際しての調査者自身の「立場」を反省的に捉える視点を重視した内容を扱う予定である。次に、学んだ内容を踏まえて、改めて受講生自身が特定のフィールドワークの方法を実践する。さらに、その結果を受講生間で考察することを通じて、フィールドワークで必要とされる実際の手続きを感覚的にも身に着ける。フィールドワークの場所は池袋駅周辺を検討している。またゲストスピーカーをお招きし、フィールドワークをめぐる実際の経験を話してもらう。最終的には、授業を通じて学んだことを報告することを通じて、フィールドワークに関する知識と技術の定着を目指す。
本科目では校外学習に参加することが必須条件となる。授業内における実践を通じてフィールドワークの基礎的素養を身につけ、国内に限らず海外でのフィールドワークにも展開できる応用的な力を養う。
