学びの技法 |
Students will learn how to develop the subject of his/her research. The goals of this course are for students to be able to
1.obtain critical analysis, rigor and independence of thought.
2.practice individual judgement and skill in the application of research theory and methods.
3.develop skills required in writing research proposals, reports and theses.
This course aims to introduce to students the basic principles of qualitative research in the humanities, particularly in the fields of anthropology and sociology. Students will be given the opportunity to read and analyse English language research materials including selected journal articles and excerpts of journal articles.
The papers studied in class will focus on topics such as international relations, migration studies, cultural identity, and human resource management.
Generally, each class the instructor will explain principles of research to be covered for the week. Students will be given time in some classes to work on their research and reflection journals and get feedback on their progress from the instructor.
Students are expected to come to class having read the assigned weekly texts, complete writing/revision tasks, and give presentations.
