【Course Objectives】

Knowledge of topics such as, ‘The characteristics of Japanese as a foreign language’ and ‘The pedagogy of Japanese as a foreign language’ acquired in the classroom, will be utilized in an actual Japanese teaching situation. This process will teach students through experience what it means to teach Japanese to students and allow them to experientially recognize desirable teacher qualities.

【Course Contents】

Once sufficient preparatory training, that includes risk management, has been completed, practice for teaching Japanese in an overseas university will be carried out. Prepare the teaching materials needed at each of the educational sites and a teaching plan for every lesson. Utilize previously acquired knowledge of Japanese and Japanese pedagogy, to conduct Japanese teaching practice in a practical manner. After the teaching practice, use the follow-up activity to review what you have learned during your personal experience of practicing teaching. In order to link your teaching practice experience to further learning, please also share any issues facing overseas Japanese-language education providers that you picked up on during your placement and possible solutions to these problems. Please ensure you properly check relevant details, such as the schedule for preparatory and follow-up activities, in the enrollment information before participating. Also, as the teaching practice schedule varies depending on the host institution, each student should ensure that they apply during the correct period by checking the necessary details in the enrollment information pack.
