The course aims to help students develop skills to critically analyze and discuss the content of news articles, social media posts and other media content. It also aims to help students be responsible consumers of media. Actual news articles will be analyzed for discussions on fake news, propaganda, censorship and media representation.
The course will consist of three main pillars. Tasks in and outside of class will involve reading, discussions, researching and reporting. Students will read and summarize news articles every week, discuss media literacy and news literacy issues in class, and give a presentation on a topic of their choice.

It is recommended that the student’s English level is at or above
TOEFL(iBT) 68, TOEFL(PBT) 520, IELTS 5.5, or TOEIC 650.
