基礎科目(DLP/PEACE/TBP) |
• Students will explain the role of communication in academic, social, civic, and professional endeavors.
• Students will gain an understanding of key theories and concepts in Communication Studies.
• Students will differentiate their use of verbal and nonverbal language, communicating appropriately and effectively to the goal and context of the communication situation.
• Students will implement effective communication practices, including public speaking.
This course is designed to provide an overview of the basic concepts of communication and the skills required to communicate in a variety of contexts. Emphasis is placed on critical theories and messaging observed within a range of communication situations (interpersonal, small-group, and organizational to intercultural). Furthermore, this course engages the sometimes-controversial intersections of communication and media within an increasingly global and digital world.
