The course aims to introduce the key debates and understandings within cultural anthropology. It will allow students to:
· Understand what matters and why it matters for anthropologists.
· Understand the way of thinking in terms of not fixed categories such as "human rights" and "poverty", but networks of complex elements related to social systems.
· Acquire the knowledge for the way of thinking anthropologically which is the way of thinking not only about different cultures but others.
Cultural Anthropology is the study of humanity. Cultural Anthropologists conducted fieldwork learning people's practices and knowledge and wrote it in an ethnography. The accumulation of anthropological knowledge and the ethnographies indicated will provide you with different perspectives of your way of thinking and seeing. In this course, you will acquire an anthropological point of view by learning the history of anthropological thought and by learning various issues of each sub-discipline of anthropology. This course is an overview of the discipline of Cultural Anthropology and an awareness of the importance of anthropological knowledge in contemporary society, as well as the difficulties anthropology has.
