Students will understand and be able to explain basic concepts and topics related to the development of ‘intercultural sensitivity’ and ‘intercultural awareness’ in language classrooms. Students will further develop critical views about how intercultural communication is promoted or hindered in the language classrooms.
The present course covers basic concepts and topics that are relevant in understanding intercultural communication in (foreign) language classrooms. By examining and creating one's own activities from the point of promoting intercultural understanding, students will deepen their understanding about intercultural communication in the language classroom.

At Rikkyo University, students are required to spend 45 hours of study (including class time) per credit. Please prepare for classes and review the materials accordingly.
Students are expected to read roughly 15-20 pages weekly and be prepared to participate in class discussions.

TOEFL iBT 80/4.5,IELTS 6.0, TOEIC L&R 700, or TOEIC L&R IP 700.
