This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the history and issues surrounding cultural studies, as well as the fundamental concepts of cultural discourse. Throughout the course, students will learn how to analyze cultural phenomena within their historical, social, and political contexts.
The first half of the course will focus on introducing students to the basic concepts of cultural discourse and raising awareness of the issues within cultural studies. In the latter half of the course, students will learn how to analyse films or literary texts using the fundamental concepts they have acquired.

カルチュラル・スタディーズの歴史、問題意識を理解し、文化について考察する際に必要な基本的な概念を身に着けるとともに、文化現象を、歴史的、社会的、政治的文脈をふまえて考察する方法を学ぶ。
This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the history and issues surrounding cultural studies, as well as the fundamental concepts of cultural discourse. Throughout the course, students will learn how to analyze cultural phenomena within their historical, social, and political contexts.
授業前半では、カルチュラル・スタディーズの問題意識をふまえながら、「文化」を議論するための基本的な概念を学び理解する。後半は、これらの概念を用いて、映画、文学などの作品を分析する手法を学ぶ。
