This course aims to explore the history, basic concepts, and critical perspectives of Cultural Studies, which originated in the UK as a theory of cultural critique, and to learn how to critically examine various phenomena occurring in their surroundings.
The first half of the course will focus on understanding the fundamental concepts and discourse of cultural studies. In the second half, students will learn how to apply these concepts to analyze cultural phenomena in the Middle East, with a particular focus on Palestine and Israel.

毎回授業前に指定するテクストを読んでくること（約１時間程度）。授業内で紹介した参考資料（映像も含む）を授業後に確認すること（約２時間程度）。最終レポートに向けた発展的な学修（合計15時間程度）。
Pre-class Preparation (approx. 1 hour per session): Students are required to complete the assigned readings before each class.
Post-class Review (approx. 2 hours per session): Students should review the supplementary materials (including audiovisual resources) introduced during the lecture.
Final Report Preparation (approx. 15 hours total): Independent research and advanced study specifically directed toward the development of the final research paper.

文化批判の理論として英国で生まれたカルチュラル・スタディーズの歴史やその基本的概念と問題意識を理解し、私たちの身の回りで起こっているさまざまな事象を批判的に考察する方法を学ぶ。

授業前半では、カルチュラル・スタディーズについての基本的な概念・キーワードを理解する。後半は、これらの概念を用いて、中東地域（パレスチナ・イスラエルが中心）における文化事象を分析する手法を学ぶ。
