基礎科目（一般） |
(1) The main causes of the Asia-Pacific War (1941-45) will be examined through looking into the aspects of offenders and victims of the war.
(2) The difference and conflicts of the post-war recollections of the Asia-Pacific War among the Allied (mainly US, UK and the Netherlands), Japan and the Southeast Asian countries will be be considered respectively.
(3) The Japanese war reparations towards the post-war Southeast Asian countries will be examined. Moreover, in order to think about the way of recovery from the psychological war damages, two Japanese persons who have acted as reconciliation activists will be introduced.
This course will deal with the following four topics;
(1) The general outline of Asia-Pacific War (1941-45), which includes the causes, the progress and the result of the war.
(2) The concrete damages of the Asia-Pacific War in Southeast Asian countries (such as Bataan Death March, the battle in Manila, Thai-Burma Railway construction, atrocity against the oversea Chinese and others, etc.)
(3) The difference and conflicts of the post-war recollections of the Asia-Pacific War among the Allied (mainly US, UK and the Netherlands), Japan and the Southeast Asian countries.
(4) The realities of Japanese war reparations towards the post-war Southeast Asian countries, and the actions of two impressive Japanese persons who have acted as reconciliation activists.

（１）アジア・太平洋戦争(1941-45）について、戦争に至った要因にくわえ、加害と被害の両面から見た戦争の実態を理解できるようにする。
（２）アジア・太平洋戦争に関する戦後の記憶が、連合国（主に米英蘭）、日本、そして東南アジア諸国においてどのように異なり、相克しているかについての理解が深められるようにする。
（３）戦後の日本の賠償の実態を考察し、さらに被害者の心の傷を癒す和解活動に関わった2人の人物の事例を見ることを通じて、戦争がもたらす被害の回復のありかたについて考えられるようにする。

（２）アジア・太平洋戦争時に東南アジアで具体的に生じた被害の検証
（バターン死の行進、マニラ市街戦、泰緬鉄道建設工事、カラゴン事件、「検証」、文化的侮辱ほか）
（３）アジア・太平洋戦争をめぐる戦後記憶の比較
（米英蘭を軸とする連合国、日本、東南アジア諸国のあいだでどのように記憶が異なり相克しているか）
（４）日本政府による戦後賠償の実態、印象的な二人の日本人による和解活動の紹介
This course will deal with the following four topics;
(1) The general outline of Asia-Pacific War (1941-45), which includes the causes, the progress and the result of the war.
(2) The concrete damages of the Asia-Pacific War in Southeast Asian countries (such as Bataan Death March, the battle in Manila, Thai-Burma Railway construction, atrocity against the oversea Chinese and others, etc.)
