The purpose of this course is to provide students with basic knowledge of communication and media. Furthermore, it develops students’ abilities to analyze the roles and issues surrounding technology in society from multiple perspectives.
Our lifestyles and values have changed along with the development of the media. Society has also been transformed through its deep connections with media communications. Learning about the development of media technology provides important insights for understanding changes in society and human activity. In this class, we will consider the changing social roles of media technology and associated issues by examining examples of such technology from the past to the present.

コミュニケーションやメディアに関する基礎的な知識を身につけることを目標とする。また、社会におけるテクノロジーの役割と課題を多角的に考察する力を養うことを目指す。

私たちのライフスタイルや価値観はメディアとともに変化してきた。また私たちの社会はメディア・コミュニケーションと深く結びつきながら変容してきた。メディア・テクノロジーの発展について学ぶことは、社会や人間の行動の変遷を知るための重要な手がかりとなる。本授業では、過去から現在までの多様なメディアの事例を取り上げながら、時代とともに変化するメディア・テクノロジーの社会的役割と課題について考察する。
