In this course, the goal is to acquire the computer skills necessary for language education and research, and to apply them effectively in relevant situations. The specific objectives of the course are as follows:
1. To have basic knowledge about computers in English
2. To familiarize yourself with PCs
3. To be able to obtain useful information from the Internet
4. To have a good command of MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
5. To have research skills using computers
6. To understand netiquette (network etiquette) and internet morals and ethics
The lessons will be conducted both in English and in Japanese. Students are required to be proactive in order to express their opinions in class, and the instructor will act as a facilitator for the classroom activities and discussions.

受講にあたっては、以下のPC環境を用意しておくこと。
・Windows 10 または Windows 11 の PC であること（他のOSの使用は認めません）。
・Windows 10 または Windows 11 の基本操作ができること。
・Office 365 がインストールされていること。
・個人でマイクロソフトアカウントとパスワードを所有していること（大学のアカウントは使用できません）。
・Office 版 OneNote が使える環境であること。
・OneDrive との連携が可能であること。

To take this course, students must have the following PC environment.
1. You must have a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC (No other OS will be accepted).
2. Basic operation skills for Windows 10 or Windows 11 are required.
3. Office 365 must be installed on your PC.
4. You must have a personal Microsoft account and a password (University accounts cannot be used).
5. OneNote (Office Edition) must be installed on your PC.
6. OneDrive must be installed on your PC.
言語教育および言語研究に必要なコンピュータ・スキルを学び、実際にそれらを必要とする場面で活用できることを目標とする。具体的な目標は以下の通りである。
1. 英語でのコンピュータに関する基本的な知識を身につける

毎回の授業では、前半を講義形式、後半を実践形式で行う。授業への積極的な参加が学生には求められる。授業や文献講読では英語および日本語を使用する。
