This course aims to enhance students' understanding of 1) how four-skill training should be incorporated in English classes; 2) how previous findings in SLA should be made the most of in everyday practice of English teaching; and 3) what should be prioritized in the real settings through the preparation and practice of micro-teaching.
This course is primarily designed for students who are willing to work as English teachers at junior or high schools after graduation. Through reading assignments and presentation practices, students will learn what they should know about language teaching, particularly with reference to the field of Second Language Acquisition (SLA). The course also incorporates performance and group activities, enabling students to engage with and apply the concepts and theories introduced in the readings and lectures, thereby deepening their understanding. Specifically, students are supposed to give their presentations on the allotted parts in the assigned reading, following discussions. Additionally, students will develop teaching materials and activities based on the course content and present them in groups.

本授業の目標は、以下の3点である。
1) 4技能トレーニングの方法を毎回体験することで，英語教授はスキルトレーニングであることを理解すること。
2) 第二言語習得論のこれまでの発見を概観することによって，授業実践において理論的背景をどう活用できるかを理解すること。
3) 英語授業の準備・指導実演を体験することによって，学校現場で優先すべきことを理解すること。

本授業は，中学校・高等学校の教育現場で英語授業に携わる学生を主に念頭においている。授業では，文献講読＋発表を通して，特に第二言語習得論(SLA)分野で言語教育に関して押さえるべきことを学ぶ。また，文献・授業で紹介された方法論を実際に体験するための実演，グループ活動等を通して理解を深める。具体的には指定教科書の割り当て範囲を学生にプレゼンしてもらい議論する。さらに，授業で学習した内容をふまえた教材や学習活動を作成し，グループで発表する。
