基礎科目（一般） |
Students will learn key concepts and theories of intercultural communication and apply them to analyze social issues and everyday intercultural communication.
This course introduces students to the field of intercultural communication studies, key concepts and theories, and ways of applying them to critically assess social issues related to intercultural communication as well as everyday intercultural communication. This course first addresses how intercultural communication emerged as an academic field and what it means to study and practice intercultural communication in today’s world in which people are more connected with each other and simultaneously more divided among each other than before. Then students will learn key concepts and theories of intercultural communication and apply them to examine intercultural communication issues.

異文化コミュニケーションの主要概念・理論を学び、それを使って社会問題や日常の異文化コミュニケーションを分析する力をつける。
Students will learn key concepts and theories of intercultural communication and apply them to analyze social issues and everyday intercultural communication.
この授業は、異文化コミュニケーション論の主要な概念・理論を学び、これらを応用して文化とコミュニケーションが関わる社会問題や日常の異文化コミュニケーションを考察することを通して、異文化コミュニケーションのあり方を探っていくことを目的とする。まず、人々の移動やつながりと同時に社会的分断も激しくなっている現代社会において、異文化コミュニケーションを学ぶことの意義、そしてこの学問領域が歴史的にどのような文脈で成立してきたのかについて考える。それを踏まえて、この領域の主要な概念・理論を学び、それを使って異文化コミュニケーションの諸課題を考察していく。
