This course aims at understanding the theories of second language acquisition while applying the theories to language teaching and learning. Throughout the course, the students will be able to (1) learn key concepts and terminology in the field of second language acquisition, (2) explore various perspectives to interpret how languages are learned, (3) analyze how different theories inform language teaching practice, (4) understand how various studies have contributed to the knowledge in the field of second language acquisition, and (5) critically reflect own language learning experience.
Students will learn about various themes related to second language acquisition through reading and discussions. Students will give presentations about the assigned topics and lead class discussions each week. They will also apply the theories and research findings into foreign language learning and teaching through reflecting on their own foreign language learning experience.

It is recommended that the student’s English level is at or above TOEFL iBT 76,IELTS 6.0, TOEIC 700 , or TOEIC IP 700.
This course aims at understanding the theories of second language acquisition while applying the theories to language teaching and learning.
