The primary objectives of this course are to enable students to:
1) understand the basic concept of language tests;
2) develop language tests for different purposes; and
3) assess validity and reliability of language tests
This course welcomes students who use language tests in school settings (in the future) and who are interested in research on language testing. This course also welcomes students interested in a wide range of issues around language testing worldwide. In this course, students will learn the basic concept of language tests, procedure for language test development, assessment of validity and reliability of language tests, and language tests for reading, listening, speaking, writing, and vocabulary/grammar. Students are required to engage actively in weekly reading assignments, lectures, discussions, test analysis as a mid-term assignment, and the final project.
