The goal of this course is to develop an understanding ofthe purposes and design of testing and assessment in language education, and to build the competence to implement assessments that foster students' English proficiency as language teachers.
This course deepens students' understanding of the definitions and significance of testing and assessment in language education and introduces the key features and processes of test development, including the design of test tasks and methods for scoring test performance. In addition, the course provides opportunities for discussion on effective approaches to classroom-based language testing and assessment. To develop practical assessment literacy, students are required to engage in test-construction tasks both individually and in groups.

外国語教育における評価とテストの方法について学び、教師として生徒の英語力を伸ばすための評価を実践する力を身につけることを目指す。
The goal of this course is to develop an understanding ofthe purposes and design of testing and assessment in language education, and to build the competence to implement assessments that foster students' English proficiency as language teachers.
外国語教育におけるテスト・評価の定義や意義について理解を深め、テストタスクの設計方法やテストパフォーマンスの採点方法などのテスト開発の一連の特徴や流れを学ぶ。さらに、テスト理論に基づいて、教室内で実施するテスト・評価の在り方についてディスカッションを行う。評価実践の力を身に付けるため、グルーや個人でテスト作成課題に取り組む機会を積極的に設ける。
