【Course Objectives】

The Advanced Seminar is designed to enhance students' skills in crafting academic theses. It will cover the fundamentals of thesis writing, including structured research presentation, integration of theoretical and empirical materials, and adherence to academic conventions for referencing, citation, and argumentation. The course will emphasize practical application, allowing students to discuss their research, receive feedback on their writing, and learn how to frame their work effectively. Key components include sample writings, exemplary thesis papers and articles, and brief readings focused on creating original academic works. This course marks the first of the three semesters dedicated to supporting students' thesis development. The initial session will concentrate on formulating thesis proposals, which will be further developed in subsequent semesters.

【Course Contents】

The course focuses on enhancing students' skills in information gathering, critical evaluation, and effective communication. It aims to develop original research papers in English on topics such as international relations/cooperation and intercultural cooperation. The instructor will provide academic writing examples and support refining thesis topics. Additionally, the course includes practice in academic writing conventions and research skills, with guidance on sourcing, citation, and constructing persuasive arguments.
