The goal of this seminar is to gain a higher knowledge about visual art or expressions, to grasp the appropriate social and cultural contexts of the artworks and to be able to make an in-depth multifaceted analyses of them.
Students will choose one or a few theme(s) pertaining to art that they will explore individually and collectively through a variety of activities such as reading texts, watching videos, browsing artworks on the internet, or visiting museums and monuments, They will discuss, write essays or make a presentation on the given theme.

美術と視覚文化についてより専門的な知識を獲得し、作品や作者について、社会的、文化的コンテクストを的確にとらえ、総合的な考察ができるようになる。
The goal of this seminar is to gain a higher knowledge about visual art or expressions, to grasp the appropriate social and cultural contexts of the artworks and to be able to make an in-depth multifaceted analyses of them.
履修生と相談の上、美術または視覚表現に関係するテーマを設定し、そのテーマをめぐる様々な活動を通じて、多面的な考察をプレゼンテーション、ディスカッション、小エッセイ等の成果とし発表してゆく。
