This course provides an introduction to Japanese Constitutional Law. Students will learn how human rights are protected as well as the basic structure of the legislature, the cabinet, and the courts by examining the court decisions.
This course will begin with a brief history of Japanese Constitutional Law, then it will cover the role of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. The course will focus on the protection of human rights, such as freedom of religion, freedom of expression, and equality rights, etc.
