The objective of this course is to explore the basics of Japanese tort law from a comparative perspective.
Tort law is the body of rules that determine when and how a person must compensate another for a financial or emotional damage. This course will explore the basic structure of the Japanese law of torts from a comparative perspective. Most classes are interactive with a group presentation in the end of the semester.
