【Course Objectives】

The objective of this course is to introduce students to the basics of legal reasoning with a focus on the Japanese law of torts.

【Course Contents】

Tort law is the body of rules that determine when and how a person must compensate another for a financial or emotional damage. This course will explore the basic structure of the Japanese law of torts from a comparative perspective. Most classes are interactive and students are expected to prepare and participate in every class.
