This course aims at acquiring the perspectives to analyze the roles of laws using the methods of social sciences and utilize the findings from social sciences to practice laws and policy-making. In addition, it aims at cultivating the ability to imagine the social scientific approach to solve problems on laws.
This course will lecture on the social scientific analyses on the roles of laws. Also, it will teach about how to utilize social scientific findings for the practice of laws and policy-making and some considerations on this utilization.

法の役割について社会科学的に分析する視点，および社会科学の知見を法の運用や政策に活用する視点について学ぶ。これらの学習を通して，政策的な問題を考えるために必要な社会科学的な調査を構想する能力の涵養を目指す。

実社会における法の機能について社会科学的な観点からなされる分析を紹介するとともに，社会科学を法の運用や政策形成において活用する方向性およびその際の課題についても紹介する。
