The aim of this course is to analyse various political phenomena in Russia (the Soviet Union) with reference to theories of comparative politics. In doing so, we will not only apply the Russian case to the theoretical framework, but also make diachronic comparisons between the Soviet Union and contemporary Russia, aiming at a multifaceted understanding that is in line with the actual situation.
This lecture will cover not only contemporary Russia, but also the Soviet era. It will begin with a review of political history from the second half of the 19th century, through the Russian Revolution and the Soviet era, to the present day. Subsequent lectures will be thematically organised. Specifically, the theoretical framework of comparative politics will be introduced at the beginning of each session, followed by a comparison and discussion of political phenomena in the Soviet Union and contemporary Russia.

本講義は、ロシア（ソ連）における様々な政治現象を比較政治学の理論を参照しながら分析することを目標とする。その際に、単にロシアの事例を理論枠組みに当てはめるだけでなく、ソ連と現代ロシアの通時的な比較をすることにより、実態に即した多面的な理解を目指す。

本講義では、現代ロシアのみならず、ソ連時代も対象とする。まず、19世紀後半からロシア革命、ソ連時代を経て現代に至るまでの政治史を概観する。その後の講義はテーマ別に実施する。具体的には、各回の最初に比較政治学の理論枠組みを紹介したうえで、ソ連および現代ロシアの各時期における政治現象を比較・考察する。
