The objective of this course is to acquire fundamental knowledge about the significance, background, and methods of social research.
In the social sciences, social research is a critical means of obtaining data. Without understanding the fundamental methodological standards, it is impossible to acquire accurate insights about society.
This course provides an overview of the entire process of research planning and design, starting with the formulation of research questions. It also covers various social research methods, data organization. The goal is to help students understand the basics of social research methods and develop the skills to interpret existing research data and collect new research data effectively.

社会科学において、社会調査はデータを得るための手段として重要である。基本的な方法的基準を理解することなしには、社会に関する正しい知見は得られない。
本授業では、問いの設定から始まる調査企画・設計の一連の流れや、さまざまな社会調査の手法、データの整理などについて解説する。社会調査法の基礎を理解し、既存の調査データを読み解く／新たに調査データを取得する力を身に着けることを目的とする。
