To enable students to learn about the history of early modern and modern Japan from various perspectives and develop their own views of history and the world.
Based on the textbook, lectures are given on the history of early modern and modern Japan from the perspectives of local communities, disasters, resources, energy, population, health, entertainment, education, welfare, and colonies. In addition, social history, environmental history, community theory, and systems theory are introduced as methodologies for viewing history, so that students can develop their own views of history and the world.

近世・近現代日本の歴史を、多様な視点から学び、自分なりの歴史観・世界観をもてるようにすること。
To enable students to learn about the history of early modern and modern Japan from various perspectives and develop their own views of history and the world.
テキストをもとに、近世・近代日本の歴史を、地域社会・災害・資源・エネルギー・人口・健康・娯楽・教育・福祉・植民地の視点から講義するとともに、歴史の見方を関する方法論として、社会史・環境史・共同体論・システム論について紹介することで、履修者が自分なりの歴史観・世界観を持つことができる素養を身につけさせる。
