This seminar analyzes Japanese politics by examining politicians who served as Prime Minister during the Heisei period. Each class will consist of a student presentation on the assigned readings, followed by a discussant's comments and a class discussion. Details may be adjusted depending on class size. The seminar also aims to develop essential academic skills, including writing response papers, giving presentations, and participating in discussions.
In this seminar, students will read the textbook of Japanese Prime Minister during the Heisei period. The volume of assigned literature reading will be adjusted based on the number of participants. Starting from the second session, students will be required to submit comment cards (approximately 400 characters in Japanese) in advance. During each class session, the student in charge of presenting will report on the content of the assigned literature reading followed by an overall discussion.

国際政治も日本政治も先を見通すのが困難な時代を迎えています。そんな時代だからこそ改めて問われるのが首相のリーダーシップです。この授業では、平成期に首相を務めた政治家を取り上げて日本政治について考えます。各回は、報告担当者が課題文献の内容報告を行い、その後は討論者の問題提起をふまえた全体討論を行う形で授業を進める予定です（履修人数や希望次第で細部は調整します）。また、コメントペーパーを執筆し、内容報告を行い、議論するといった大学で求められるスキルを身に着けることも授業の目標です。
