International Politics is facing a turbulent era. However, in order to accurately understand such changing times, logical thinking and a viewpoint based in history and ideas are required. The objective of this seminar is to provide students with an opportunity to deepen their thinking about International Politics and foreign policy. Moreover, it is hoped that participation in class will enable students to effectively understand writing and master the fundamentals of academic capabilities with respect to presenting reports, engaging in discussions, and writing comment cards.
In this seminar, students will read the textbook of International Politics literature which are said to be "modern classics." The volume of assigned literature reading will be adjusted based on the number of participants. Starting from the second session, students will be required to submit comment cards (approximately 400 characters in Japanese) in advance. During each class session, the student in charge of presenting will report on the content of the assigned literature reading followed by an overall discussion.

各回授業開始までに指定文献に目を通していることを前提に授業を進める。基礎知識に自信が無い受講者には授業開始前の夏期休暇期間中に参考文献に目を通しておくことを推奨する。特に『国際政治をつかむ 第3版』や『現代の国際政治』を優先するとよいだろう。 また、教科書や指定文献だけでなく関連する様々な文献やニュースにも触れることで授業の理解度や満足度が深まることも押さえておきたい。ゼミ形式の授業は参加者に積極的な発言と活発な討論が期待される。授業準備は授業で発言することを念頭に行って欲しい。

※初回授業について担当者から連絡する予定なのでパソコンのメールアドレスを必ずレポート内に記載すること。また授業開始前に参考文献の中から少なくとも1冊を読んでおくことを推奨します。
国際政治は激動の時代を迎えている。しかし、そうした時代の変化を的確に把握するためには論理的な思考と歴史や思想に根差した視座が必要となる。本演習から国際政治や外交について考えを深めるきっかけを得て欲しい。また、授業への参加を通じて、文章を読みこなし、報告・議論・コメントカード及びレポート執筆等に関する学術的な能力の基礎を身に付けて欲しい。

本演習では、高坂正堯『平和と危機の構造』（中公文庫、2024年）と近年執筆された様々の論考を併読しつつ、現代の国際政治を学ぶ。課題量は受講者の人数次第で調整する。第2回以降は事前にコメントカード（400字程度）を提出を求める。各回は、報告担当者が課題文献の内容報告を行い、その後は討論者の問題提起をふまえた全体討論を行う形で授業を進めて行く。
