The objective of this course is to present Japanese law as seen by Japanese and international scholars.
This course will present some areas of the Japanese legal system from a historical and comparative perspective. The focus will be on the judicial system and in particular on the Supreme Court of Japan.

Ability to listen to a class in English and engage in simple conversations in English about the topics presented.
Basic knowledge of Japanese history and society since 1947.
A suitable English language proficiency level is a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
The use of laptops, tablets, phones and other electronic devices during the lesson, unless explicitly allowed on a case-by-case basis, is strictly prohibited.
