近代政治理論の代表的理論を理解し、現代にも通ずる政治的価値がいかなるものかを把握する。
Understanding one of the modern political theory and political value.
近代の代表的政治理論としてトマス・ホッブズ『リヴァイアサン』を精読する。本書は現代（の例えばカール・シュミット）まで大きな影響を与えたが、必ずしも理解しやすくはないので、ゼミ員との討論によって内容を明確にする必要がある。秋学期は第二部終わりまで読み進めることにする。
